Hiking Group

For our October hike, we will explore Oak Canyon, one of the most beautiful spots in inland Orange County.

Date: Saturday, October 14, 2023

Time: Meet at 7:50 a.m. Gather, pray, hike at 8 a.m.

Short hike: Stroll around in the scenic oak-shaded canyon. Several trails. Choose your distance – 1 mile or more.

Main hike: We will hike up on the ridge around the perimeter of the canyon, and also walk around Walnut Canyon Reservoir. About 5 miles total. We’ll stroll down in the canyon afterwards, check out an old mine and the oldest tree in the canyon, and visit the small nature center in the park, which has exhibits of local animals.

Directions: Address 6700 E Walnut Canyon Rd, Anaheim. You can take the freeway, Santiago Canyon or the toll road. I recommend freeway: 5 north, 55 north, 91 east, second exit 36 Imperial Hwy. Go Right on Imperial, left on Nohl Ranch Rd, left on E Walnut Canyon (halfway up the hill, no light, look for signs for golf course). When the road ends, the park entrance is to the left. There’s a small parking lot. If it is full, there is plenty of free street parking. Just watch the signs. Certain stretches of the road don’t allow parking.

Meet: Outside the restrooms in the parking lot.

Restrooms: In parking lot and also in the Nature Center.

Breakfast afterwards (optional): Mimosas Kitchen and Bar, 8150 E Santa Ana Canyon Rd https://www.mimosasanaheim.com/

RSVP: Appreciated but not required. You can just show up. We’d love to have you.
