MHC Hiking October 03, 2020
For our October hike we'll explore part of O'Neill Park. This is an easy hike, all dirt, mostly flat, with a creek crossing and oak grove single track to add interest.
Time: Meet at 7:20 a.m., gather, pray, hike at 7:30 a.m.
This is an out and back hike, so you can choose your distance.
Main hike: about five miles from the trailhead through the arroyo, across a creek, up Twisted Tire trail to Story Walk Trail where we'll check out the story and enjoy the views.
Intermediate/advanced - on the way back, the advanced group will break off and do Edna Spaulding Trail - a one mile somewhat hilly single track loop.
Meet: at the end of the cul-de-sac on Las Fieras, Rancho Santa Margarita.
Directions: From the 5 fwy, take Alicia toward the mountains. Make a left on Santa Margarita Parkway. Then go right on Melinda, then third right on Las Fieras.
Free street parking.
Bathrooms available in O'Neill Park and along Storywalk.
RSVP's recommended and appreciated but not required. You can just show up.
Breakfast afterwards (optional): TBD
