MHC Hiking September 05, 2020
For our September hike, we will enjoy the beautiful views Santiago Truck Trail offers.
Time: Meet at 7:20 a.m., gather, pray, hike at 7:30 a.m.
This is an out and back hike, so you choose your distance. If you want to go a mile, great. If more, great.
The main hike will be about 7 miles. It's a ridge trail and thus somewhat hilly. Mostly uphill on the way out and downhill on the way back. Spectacular views throughout. An intermediate/advanced optional hill will be offered for those who are interested.
We'll start off on asphalt for about 1/2 mile to get to the trail head. This is a steep hill. We may do a shuttle to the trail head if anyone wants/needs it. Once we're on the trail, it's all dirt.
Meeting place: Corner of Santiago Canyon Road (El Toro past Cook's Corner) and Modjeska Grade.
Directions: Go up El Toro Road toward the mountains. Go left at Cook's Corner - becomes Santiago Canyon Road (SCR). Continue for about 1.2 miles. As soon as you pass Modjeska Grade, park along SCR. Free street parking.
Breakfast afterwards (optional): TBD.
RSVP's appreciated but not required. You can just show up.
