Mission Hills: At The Table
A 4-Week Summer Discipleship Experience
This summer, we’re inviting our church family to slow down and gather around tables in homes across our community for a shared experience of hospitality and friendship.
At the Table is built around a simple idea: some of the most meaningful spiritual formation happens not in a classroom, but around a dinner table. Together, we’ll share meals, practice presence, open Scripture briefly, pray for one another, and create space for authentic relationships to grow.
Rather than focusing on lengthy teaching or discussion-driven meetings, these evenings are meant to feel warm, relational, and unhurried—a place where people can be known, welcomed, and cared for.
What to Expect
- A 4-week commitment
Groups will begin meeting the week of July 5th and conclude the week of July 26th. (Once a week for four consecutive weeks.) Because relationships take time to form, participants are asked to prioritize attending all four gatherings as consistently as possible. - Everyone contributes to the meal
Each gathering includes a shared potluck-style meal, and every participant is expected to bring something to contribute each week. Hospitality is something we practice together—not something only provided by the host. - Placement based on proximity
Groups will be formed primarily around zip codes and availability so that people can connect with others who live nearby and build relationships that can continue beyond the summer.
Gathering Rhythm
Each evening will typically include:
- A shared meal around the table
- Simple Scripture reflection
- Meaningful conversation and connection
- Prayer for one another
Details
- Meets once per week in homes
- 90–120 minutes each gathering
- Multiple meeting nights available
Whether you’re new to Mission Hills or have been here for years, At the Table is an invitation to experience the kind of community Jesus often formed around meals: unhurried, welcoming, joyful, and rooted in love.
